Choco Hazelnut Brownies

This Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies is a favorite of one of my nephews. But we seldom make this at home because unless you stomp your foot down or hide the chocolate hazelnut spread from everybody, nutella will become sandwich spread or eaten by the spoon faster than you can say chocolate hazelnut in one breath. Yes, it gets consumed fast.

But one day, I dropped by this particular grocery store and saw a couple of bottles of Crumpy on a buy 1 get 1 promo and I couldn't believe my eyes! They are to expire three months after that's why they're on sale. That's too long for the spread to get consumed in our household, just give us a few days. Ha-ha! There are other varieties of Crumpy on sale but I only had my eyes on their chocolate hazelnut spread, the Crumpy Nut. So I grabbed four bottles, walking happily, singing hallelujah on the way to the cashier's counter. :)

And that's the story of how these Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies in this post came to be.

I like baking one more batch that are paler brown
simply to create a nice contrast when placing them in a box  :)
So to make them Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies....

1. Whisk flour and cocoa. Set aside.

2. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter (cooled slightly), chocolate hazelnut spread and sugar.

3. Pour in slightly beaten eggs and vanilla extract. Mix.

4. Add in the dry ingredients and combine until fully incorporated.

5. Bake in a preheated oven at 325F for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted.

6. Let cool on a wire rack until room temp then cool slightly in the fridge for about 10 minutes just so we'll have smoother edges when slicing.

7. Serve your Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies and enjoy! :)

Now, what I usually do when I make this one is bake another batch but excluding cocoa and white sugar so I'll have Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies with a paler color. This is simply because I like looking at my brownies with a little bit of color contrast. :)

Notice the lighter color of our Choco Hazelnut Brownies batter?
This is because we exclude adding cocoa powder.
Also bake our Choco Hazelnut Brownies at 325F for 30 minutes.
Now we have light brown Choco Hazelnut Brownies
Slice and serve and enjoy! or.....
I admit, I love the darker Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies more. Way more! The more chocolaty it is, the better for me. This blonde brownie is sort of dedicated to my husband who is not a fan of chocolate. Others are like that which makes me wonder why the heck don't they adore chocolates.. why? :) Anyways...

Arrange your Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies in a pretty box and give as gift.
